colors of beauty
December 22nd, 2008 by semcoproThere are beautiful colors all around us. It is up to us to go out and seek out these colors. In art, there is nothing more important then the colors that we use. Color is what makes everything around us seem different and unique. Color is where things become original and beautiful.
“There is nothing worse than being ordinary,” this is a quote from American Beauty that expresses what every painter and filmmaker feels. They want their work of arts to be “beautiful” and to show reality in unique ways. The painter and filmmaker use the models and characters to express an emotion. Color helps give expression to the object’s struggle. But how color is perceived by the viewer can be different. One can draw many similarities between the models of painters and filmmakers starting from Technicolor to Eastmancolor. However there are some methods that can’t be used in film In this essay I will explore these similarities and differences through the help of the film American Beauty as well as what the colors used represent and how the representations can trigger different emotions from person to person.
